Eddie Montgomery Reunites With Jim Beam For Ongoing Tour Sponsorship
Jim Beam© Bourbon, the World’s #1 Bourbon, will reunite with award-winning Eddie Montgomery of Montgomery Gentry as official tour sponsor, it was announced today. Eddie Montgomery continues to tour nationwide and has just added additional dates through the rest of the year (see below).
Throughout most of Montgomery Gentry’s 20-year career, Jim Beam enthusiastically supported the platinum-selling duo. This new partnership marks Jim Beam’s continued support for Eddie Montgomery as he moves forward.

In 2017, fresh from the studio recording their new album Here’s To You, MG hit the road and started performing some of their favorite new songs from those sessions. One of those songs was “Outskirts”, a classic MG song in the same spirit as Where I Come From and My Town, but didn’t make it on the album.Troy and Eddie liked the song so much the band starting playing it in concert.

Montgomery Gentry are gearing up to release their new seven-track EP Outskirts, out June 14. Recorded prior to Troy Gentry’s death in the fall of 2017, the EP includes a stunning cover of Merle Haggard’s 1983 hit “What Am I Gonna Do (With the Rest of My Life),” which Billboard premieres exclusively below.
The heartbreaking ballad features Eddie Montgomery on lead vocals. The song’s stark production includes delicate percussion and soaring pedal-steel accompaniment, further allowing Haggard’s poignant lyrics and the emotion felt in Montgomery’s vocals to shine.

Written by Troy Jones, the quirky but catchy song features the rough-hewn baritone of Eddie Montgomery. “When I heard it, I immediately thought of my neighbor,” commented Montgomery. “I call him ‘my crazy-a** Cajun buddy’ and this song is him.” “King of the World” was shot at a cabin just outside of Nashville Tennessee.
